Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards today turned the first sod of Camp Hill Primary School’s upgrade project, joined by principal Chris Barker, staff and students.

“We’re working to upgrade and modernise Camp Hill Primary School, one of Victoria’s oldest schools, to give students the facilities they deserve." Said Ms Edwards.

“This investment means families in Bendigo can be confident their local school is getting the modern classrooms and permanent infrastructure needed to support students for
generations to come.”

“It’s been a pleasure to work with Principal Chris Barker, staff, students and families to reach this point, and I can’t wait to see this project get underway.”

The Labor Government allocated $4.1 million in the Victorian Budget 2024/25 for the
project, which will give students the classrooms they need and deserve.

Arc3 Pty Ltd has been appointed to replace modular classrooms with permanent facilities, giving students more modern learning spaces.

This followed the school sharing in $24 million allocated for planning in the Victorian
Budget 2023/24.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so every student can receive a
great education in their local area.

The Labor Government has invested more than $18.5 billion to build new schools and
upgrade more than 2,300 existing ones – supporting more than 30,000 jobs in
construction and related industries.
