The State Labor Government is continuing to support Victoria's thriving live music industry, making it easier for Victorians to experience major music festivals closer to home while creating local jobs and strengthening the state's renowned creative industries.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards MP today announced the successful recipients of the latest round of the Live Music Festivals Fund, with grants helping Victorian festival operators deliver outstanding live music experiences across the state.
"Victoria is Australia's live music capital, and we're proud to support festivals that bring communities together, showcase local talent and strengthen regional economies." Said Ms Edwards
"These grants will help ensure festivals continue to thrive and that Victorians can enjoy great live music experiences close to home."
Delivered through Music Victoria, the program provides funding to festivals that attract more than 1,000 attendees, supporting events that boost local economies, create jobs and showcase Victorian artists and talent.
Among the successful recipients are two festivals in central Victoria:
- Maldon Folk Festival, which received $24,992.(This includes $3000 Accessibility Funding to be used for AUSLAN interpreter during the festival)
- Town Folk Festival, which received $50,000.
The grants will help both festivals continue delivering high-quality live music experiences while supporting local businesses, tourism and the region's vibrant creative community.
The Live Music Festivals Fund is part of the State Labor Government's broader investment in Victoria's live music sector. Alongside this program, the 10,000 Gigs: The Victorian Gig Fund helps venues host paid live performances, while the Music Works program supports artists, bands, music organisations and events across Victoria.
