Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards, today officially opened Campbells Creek Primary School’s new modular building – a state-of-the-art facility that will provide extra classroom capacity and enhance learning opportunities for local students.

“This new facility is another step forward for Campbells Creek Primary – giving students and teachers the modern spaces they need to thrive and ensuring families can access great education close to home.” Said Ms Edwards

“These facilities will ensure Campbells Creek Primary can keep pace with enrolment growth while continuing to deliver the high-quality education this community is proud of.

“We’re making sure schools like Campbells Creek Primary have the resources they need to nurture creativity, learning and community connection.”

The building can operate as two classrooms or be converted into a large multipurpose space, giving teachers and students the flexibility they need.

It also includes a staff room and accessible ramp, as well as modern amenities such as noise-reducing acoustic panels, energy-efficient lighting, wireless connectivity, and year-round heating and cooling.

The new building at Campbells Creek Primary School, south of Castlemaine, is one of the projects delivered through the 2024-25 Modular Building Program.

Modular buildings are a smart, modern way to meet the needs of growing schools – delivering high-quality classrooms quickly, with the flexibility to adapt as communities change.

Built with sustainability in mind, they combine energy efficiency with contemporary spaces for teaching and learning.

This latest upgrade builds on recent improvements at the school, including new playground equipment and a climbing wall delivered in 2022 with the support of the Labor Government.

The Allan Labor Government is making sure every Victorian gets a great education close to home – supporting schools to meet growing enrolments with state-of-the-art modular classrooms.

For the 2025 school year, the Allan Government has provided $152.4 million to deliver additional classrooms in areas of need.

Since 2014, the Victorian Labor Government has invested a record $18.5 billion to deliver more than 2,300 school upgrades and 123 brand new schools across the State.
