Year 11 and 12 students at Creek Street Christian College are now enjoying upgraded and modernised facilities thanks to a $2.5 million investment from the Allan Labor Government.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards MP recently joined the college community to celebrate the completion of a two storey multi-purpose facility for International Baccalaureate studies.
The building consists of five general learning areas, student common area, lift, amenities, two staff offices, two study areas, storage areas and a locker shelter structure.
The Allan Labor Government provided $2.5 million towards the project from the Non-Government Schools Capital Fund, while the school contributed $625,000.
The lead builder on the project was G.A. & P.A. Pilcher Building Contractors Pty Ltd, with Plans for People Architects designing the upgrade.
“It’s fantastic that Creek Street Christian College now has a dedicated learning space for International Baccalaureate studies, to ensure they can continue to grow and respond to student needs. The school community and school council were great advocates for this,” Said Ms Edwards
“This project was important to ensure that students and families have modern facilities for a worldclass education.
“Congratulations to staff and students for their cooperation throughout the build – and thank you to all of the contractors for their brilliant work.”
Since 2014, the Allan Labor Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades, creating around 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries.
