A BIGGER, BETTER BOWLS CLUB FOR KANGAROO FLAT

Families in Kangaroo Flat will be able to rely on great local sporting facilities, with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to deliver $330,000 towards an upgrade of the Kangaroo Flat Bowls Club.

Right now – despite record levels of participation at the club – Bendigo continues to miss out on the state’s biggest bowls tournaments.

But with funding from a Labor Government, the club will be able to kickstart Stage One of its redevelopment, including the construction of a synthetic bowling green.

With these upgrades from Labor, local clubs – and this local community – will have the great sporting facilities they deserve.

This commitment builds on the Andrews Labor Government’s investment in sport across Bendigo, including more than $170,000 for Castlemaine Goldfields Football Club, new uniforms and equipment for the Falcons Baseball Club and Marong Netball Club, and new lighting for the Golden City Soccer Club.

While the Liberals cut funding for hospitals and schools, and closed TAFE campuses – only Labor will invest in the projects our community really needs.

The Labor Government has made the biggest investment in grassroots sport in Victoria’s history, with $420 million dedicated to community sports.

“Kangaroo Flats Bowls Club has a very proud history – and with this new upgrade, it’ll have a very bright future too.”

“Our investment in this club is also an investment in the men and women who’ve worked so hard to build it.”

“From a game of social bowls to the next big tournament, this upgrade will mean Kangaroo Flat’s bowlers have the facilities they deserve.”

“Whether it’s investing in hospitals, schools, roads or new sporting facilities just like this one, only Labor can be trusted to deliver for Bendigo locals.”
