STAGE ONE OPEN OF THE NEW KALIANNA SCHOOL

Students at Kalianna School in Bendigo now have brand new, state-of-the-art facilities, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards and Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan today officially opened stage one of the new Kalianna School, made possible by a $15.6 million investment by the Labor Government.

The modernisation will ensure the school’s students and staff will be able to teach and learn in state-of-the-art, contemporary classrooms.

Ms Edwards also announced that stage two works for the school will commence next week with Searle Brothers builders being announced as the successful tenderers.

Strengthening inclusive education for all students, including those with disabilities and additional learning needs, is a key Education State priority.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so every student can access a great local school. It has invested more than $3.8 billion to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across Victoria.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1300 school upgrades and 70 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5000 construction jobs for Victorians.
