VETERANS GRANT ANNOUNCED FOR PROJECT IN KANGAROO FLAT TO COMMEMORATE THE SERVICE OF VICTORIA’S VETERANS

Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards MP, today announced that Kangaroo Flat RSL Sub-branch will receive funding through the Victoria Remembers Major Grant Program for a project to develop a new memorial wall at the Soldiers Memorial site in Kangaroo Flat, to acknowledge the 65 Kangaroo Flat service personnel from WWI.

 

The State Government will contribute $80,000 to the memorial wall with the City of Greater Bendigo providing project management and undertake landscape enhancements on the existing historic site to complement the new wall

 

The Victoria Remembers Major Grant Program helps communities make personal connections with the Centenary of World War One, and assists projects or activities that commemorate other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations in which Victorians have served.
