As kindergartens kick off for another year, the Andrews Labor Government is investing in new local early childhood facilities, providing education and family services all under one roof.

Part of an $18 million investment to build and upgrade facilities across the state, $262,500 will fund renovations to the Harcourt Pre-School Play Centre.

Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards, visited the pre-school to deliver the good news to teachers and parents.

“This is exciting news for families in Harcourt and the region”

“These refurbishments will improve access, increase useable floor space and create a functional kitchen to support the Centre’s cooking and growing program”.

“I want to acknowledge and thank the hardworking pre-school committee at Harcourt, and the dedicated teachers who have been working on this project for some time now”.

“I’m thrilled that their plans can now come to fruition”.

“There’s nothing more important than investing in our children’s future especially in those early and formative years of education”.

Funded through the 2017-18 round of the Labor Government’s Children’s Facilities Capital (CFC) Program, this investment will help create more than 3,300 new kinder places across Victoria  and give kids the first-rate early learning facilities they deserve.

The investment come as the Labor Government delivers a record $74 million to build, expand and upgrade early years infrastructure across Victoria to ensure local families can continue to access great local kindergartens, including $10 million targeting growth areas.

Families are also set to benefit from the Government’s $202.1 million Education State Early Childhood Reform Plan, which recognises the importance of providing families with strong support in early childhood.
