The Andrews Labor Government is building more car parks at Castlemaine Station, to make it quicker and easier for people to drive to the station and catch the train.

Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards announced today that construction has begun on the major expansion of the car park, which will add 150 commuter spaces.

The upgrade will also install new lighting, line markings, CCTV and signage to make the car park safer and easier to use.

The works are part of the Labor Government’s $20 million Station Car Park Upgrades Program, which will deliver more than 2,100 extra parking spaces at regional and metropolitan train stations – where they are needed most.

The Labor Government is also adding 18 extra weekend and weekday train services on the Bendigo Line from 27 August.

The car park upgrade is expected to be complete by October. For more information, visit
