ARTS GRANTS SUPPORT LOCAL CREATIVITY

State Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards MP today congratulated Mariaa Randall, who has received a $6,820 grant to development of a new dance work that explores three Aboriginal women’s impenetrable connection to country, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government’s latest round of VicArts Grants.

Ms Randall’s project is one of 87 diverse new creative projects to share in over $1.8 million through the Labor Government’s VicArts Grants program.

The latest round of the program will support projects that will take place across the state, the country and the globe. Collectively, the round will provide jobs and career development opportunities for more than 2,700 Victorian artists.

The VicArts Grants program provides grants of between $5,000 and $75,000 to support the development and presentation of new creative works as well as interstate and international touring and community-based projects. Applications for the next round of VicArts Grants will close at 5pm, Thursday 23 February 2017.
