Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards today revisited the Jock Comini Reserve with Pam Comini to inspect the completed clean-up of the reserve, including new seating and the new memorial plaque dedicated to Jock Comini.

Ms Edwards said it was pleasing that Vic roads had realised the importance of the reserve to the Comini family and to the many travellers on the Calder who use the reserve for rest breaks.

“After I raised this issue in Parliament and the Comini family and friends spoke out publicly about the poor condition of the reserve, Vic roads acted appropriately and have now returned the reserve to a fully functional, clean and serviceable roadside rest area”.

“It is particularly pleasing to see that the plaque dedicated to Jock has been replaced and that the reserve will continue to be named in his honour”.

“Pam has been assured by Vic roads that the reserve will be maintained on a regular basis and will not fall into disrepair again”.
