MINISTER FAILS TO GIVE TARADALE PS CERTAINTY IN WRITING

Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards called on the Minister for Education in Parliament last week to give the Taradale PS and community assurances in writing that their school would not close.

“The Minister has said the school's future is secure, but he failed to commit to writing to the school council with confirmation that the school would not close", Ms Edwards said.

"It was not an unreasonable request for the school, the Principal, and the community to have their fears once and for all put to rest with a letter from the Minister giving a guarantee that the schools future is secured".

"I hope the Minister will have a change of heart about this and respect the wishes of the Taradale School and community by putting in writing to them what he has declared in Parliament".
