PREMIER’S PHOTO OPPORTUNITY IS A MISSED OPPORTUNITY TO FUND RAVENSWOOD

Premier Baillieu’s breeze through visit to Bendigo today was nothing more than a photo opportunity when it could have been an opportunity to announce long awaited planning funding for the Ravenswood Interchange, Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards said today.

“Mr Baillieu only seems to want to come to Bendigo when there is the chance of a photo opportunity”.

“In the three visits in two years that he has made to Bendigo we have not had one funding announcement for Bendigo or the region. Again today he has let down every commuter who travels along the Calder, all the businesses that rely on it for their commercial activities and everyone who has been calling out for the Ravenswood Interchange to be funded”.

“Central Victorians have been waiting two years for the State Government to cough up the planning dollars to get the Ravenswood Interchange started”.

“The Premier obviously knows now how dangerous the intersection at Ravenswood is – now that he has finally been there, so he should be putting his money where his mouth is and funding the planning for this important project”.
