Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards joined with the Tarnagulla community and the Mayor and CEO of the Loddon Shire to open the new community centre in the township and the new streetscape works on Saturday afternoon.

“Having the new community centre is a great achievement for the community and volunteers of Tarnagulla who have worked very hard for many years to see it eventuate”.

“The community centre will be available for many community groups to use and is already being used by a number of groups”.

“It has been a tireless effort by the community and I congratulate them for their determination to see the community centre eventuate”.

“The streetscape works have built on Tarnagulla’s rich goldmining history and the new walking trails, the historic plaques, the heritage street lighting and seating as well as the new children’s playground in the Soldier’s Memorial Park are a great way to showcase what Tarnagulla has to offer”.

The new Community Centre and streetscape works were made possible through a State Government contribution of over $460,000, a Federal Government contribution of $75,000, and a Loddon Shire contribution of $185,000.
