CLOWN CALLS ON SECURITY CONTRACTOR TO STOP ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT CIRCUS

Thales security contractor MSS, need to take note of the passion that one of their guards has in getting a fair and just outcome to their award negotiations, Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards MP said today.

“MSS guard, Peter, has been standing outside Bendigo defence manufacturer Thales dressed as a clown to raise awareness of pay conditions branded unfair by security guards”.

“MSS have offered pay and conditions that left some workers being paid below award rates. On top of that MSS guards have not had a pay increase in two years”.

“The new deal offered to guards by MSS results in cuts to public holiday payments, cuts to shift penalties, changes to overtime and sub-standard pay increase well below industry parity,” said Ms Edwards.

“I wish all the best to Peter in his efforts and hope that his persistence pays off”.
